Bell, Moore & Richter is very pleased to announce that on September 16, 2016, David McFarlane was sworn in as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Attorneys at its annual meeting in Philadelphia. Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best trial attorneys from the United States and Canada including attorneys who represent plaintiffs and defendants in all types of proceedings as well as prosecutors, creating a balanced voice on important issues in the administration of justice.

Membership in the College is extended by invitation only after careful investigation and interviews with lawyers and judges who were involved in cases tried by David.  Membership in the College can never be more than 1% of the total lawyer population of a state or Canadian province and is limited to trial attorneys who have mastered the art of advocacy, have displayed the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism and are regarded as the best in their state.  There currently are approximately 5,800 Fellows throughout the United States and Canada.

David is the latest member of our firm who has received this honor, joining Steven Caulum (deceased), John Moore, Ward Richter and John Markson (now a Dane County Circuit Court judge). The firm is proud of our long history of providing high level trial advocacy for clients and is pleased that the quality of our lawyers has been recognized by judges and peers who have repeatedly identified members of our firm as qualified to become fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers. This is a great honor for David and our firm.
