Majority Women-Owned Law Firm
BMR is proud to announce that with Melita Mullen becoming a shareholder on January 1, 2023, we are a majority women-owned law firm. Bell, Moore & Richter, S.C., originally formed in 1851 as Vilas & Remington, was (not surprisingly) an all-male-owned law firm. Over the years, the name has changed, and the firm has grown adding many female attorneys who became partners, but it continued as a male-owned law firm, until 2023 when we became a majority women-owned law firm. We are extremely proud of the growth and evolution of the firm.
Wisconsin Defense Counsel's 2023 State and Local Defense Organization Diversity Award
The Wisconsin Defense Counsel’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, chaired by BMR attorney Morgan Stippel, was recognized on the international stage in October. The Defense Research Institute (“DRI”) is the largest international membership organization of attorneys defending businesses and individuals in civil litigation. Each year, DRI’s State and Local Defense Organization Diversity Award recognizes a state or local defense organization that has achieved significant success in demonstrating a commitment to diversity both inside and outside the organization. The Wisconsin Defense Counsel’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee is the proud recipient of DRI’s 2023 State and Local Defense Organization Diversity Award, which was presented at DRI’s Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. BMR extends its congratulations to all members of the Wisconsin Defense Counsel’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and is proud to support these initiatives.
