Majority Women-Owned Law Firm

BMR is proud to announce that with Melita Mullen becoming a shareholder on January 1, 2023, we are a majority women-owned law firm. Bell, Moore & Richter, S.C., originally formed in 1851 as Vilas & Remington, was (not surprisingly) an all-male-owned law firm. Over the years, the name has changed, and the firm has grown adding many female attorneys who became partners, but it continued as a male-owned law firm, until 2023 when we became a majority women-owned law firm. We are extremely proud of the growth and evolution of the firm.

The Wisconsin Defense Counsel’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee is the proud recipient of DRI’s 2023 State and Local Defense Organization Diversity Award, which was presented at DRI’s Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas.
